September 2024 — Arrest report

Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated information network, reported that Ms. Fu Yumei and Ms. Yang Shuzhen of Jingyu County, Jilin Province, were arrested on July 10, 2024; their homes were ransacked and Falun Gong books, paper currency printed with Falun Gong information, and computers confiscated. Yang was held at the Baishan City Detention Center for over two months; Fu was released on bail. These facts come from Minghui reporting and have not been independently verified. February 2025 — Sentencing report

Minghui reported on February 18, 2025 that Ms. Yang Shuzhen had been sentenced to four years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. The report gives her arrest at home on July 15, 2024 (a discrepancy of five days versus the September 2024 report), detention at the Baishan City Detention Center with family visits denied, indictment by the Jingyu County Procuratorate, and family notification by the Jingyu County Court on January 29, 2025; she appealed the verdict. June 2026 — In-prison account

People News, an outlet publishing journalism by Dajiyuan reporters, published a June 25, 2026 report (by journalist Li Jiesi) placing Yang Shuzhen, in her fifties, in the “Assault Room” of the Eighth Ward of Jilin Women’s Prison, where she protested with a hunger strike and was allegedly subjected to brutal force-feeding, during which a tooth was pried out and a tooth fell into her lung; the report says doctors removed part of her lung to extract the tooth and that police later provided one dental implant.
