Yin Feng (尹峰) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Laiwu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. In November 2020, the Laiwu District Court sentenced him to six years in prison and a 10,000-yuan fine in a case involving four Falun Gong practitioners. He was released in July 2025.
Background. According to Minghui, a Falun Gong-affiliated news outlet, Yin was first detained in September 2018 in connection with the cases of two elderly practitioners and was released on bail that October. In July 2019, railway police detained him again; he was released the same day after paying a 5,000-yuan guarantee. On August 19, 2019, officers from the Dongzhan police station took him into custody and sent him to the Jinan No. 5 Detention Center. The Laiwu District Procuratorate approved his arrest on August 29, 2019, and he was held at the Jinan No. 6 Detention Center.
Trial and sentencing. The case — Yin Feng, Cheng Xijiang, Chen Lianmei, and Liu Xixiu — was tried on September 1, 2020 by the Laiwu District Court in Jinan. According to Minghui’s reporting, the court issued sentences on November 24, 2020 without notifying the defendants’ families: Yin Feng received six years in prison and a 10,000-yuan fine; Cheng Xijiang received three years; Chen Lianmei received two and a half years; Liu Xixiu received two and a half years with a three-year suspension. No official court document for this case is publicly available; the account of the proceedings comes from Minghui’s reporting. The specific criminal charge was not reported.
Release. Minghui reported that Yin Feng was released from Shandong Prison on July 22, 2025, and later described community workers visiting his home in Laiwu on July 27, 2026. The prisoner-of-conscience database maintained by Chinese Human Rights Defenders records his six-year term as ending in August 2025.
Status note. A civil-society monthly roster of mainland political prisoners (Weiquanwang, August 31, 2026) still lists Yin Feng among prisoners serving six-year terms; that listing appears to be out of date in light of the release reports above. Yin Feng is a former prisoner, not currently detained.
