Yu Ping (于萍) is a reported Falun Gong practitioner from Dongfeng County, Jilin Province, who was reported in February 2025 to have been sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan, one of six Dongfeng County residents convicted together by the Longshan District Court.
Arrest and sentencing. On August 8, 2024, police arrested six practitioners — Liu Dianzhu, Dong Yufeng, Dong Yuqin, Yu Liqiu, Yu Ping, and Zhu Deyan — while they were studying Falun Gong teachings with two other practitioners at a private home. Their homes were raided, and the six were taken to the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. They stood trial at the Longshan District Court and were convicted; each received a three-year term and a 10,000-yuan fine. The account is from Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet, and its characterization of the proceedings is the source’s. Three of the six — Liu, Dong Yufeng, and Dong Yuqin — were later released on medical parole; no such report exists for Yu Ping, and no conclusion about her current circumstances should be drawn from its absence.
Earlier detention. The same reporting records earlier detentions of Yu Ping: she was arrested at her home on the evening of July 1, 2012, her home was ransacked, and she was detained for 15 days at the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. She was arrested again on November 10, 2017 and held at the same detention center; in September 2018 the Dongfeng County Court sentenced her to one year in prison.
Status. As of August 31, 2026, Yu Ping is listed in the Rights Defense Network (维权网) monthly report’s group of prisoners reported as sentenced to three years — dated evidence that she is reported serving her term. Her current detention facility has not been identified in published reporting, and her age and family circumstances are not published.

Identity note: The Chinese name 于萍 rests on positional matches in the Chinese edition of the prisoner tally; a variant rendering 于平 appears in some preparation materials but the roster’s Chinese edition — the primary name source — gives 于萍. Co-defendants’ accounts are documented separately; no individual is merged with another.
