Yu Yanhua / 于艳华 — Political Prisoner Profile

Yu Yanhua (于艳华), born 1959, is a reported Falun Gong practitioner from Anda City, Suihua, Heilongjiang Province, reported to have been sentenced to five years in prison. Prisoner-monitoring records describe decades of detentions for her faith: three labor-camp terms and one earlier prison term, totaling roughly eleven years, before her most recent arrest. (Minghui notes the alias 于晓华 for the same person — it is not a separate individual.)

Detention and sentencing. The CHRD Prisoners of Conscience database records that Yu was detained on July 30, 2022, by Anda City public security officers while speaking with passersby about Falun Gong, and held in the detention center. She was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison. The criminal charge and the detention facility are not identified in the available records.

According to a 2023 report by the Falun Gong-affiliated outlet Minghui, Yu’s husband was detained on the same day and later sentenced alongside her.

Status. As of August 31, 2026, Yu Yanhua is listed in the Rights Defense Network (维权网) monthly report among prisoners reported as serving five-year sentences — dated evidence that she is reported serving her term, whose reported endpoint is July 29, 2027. No release report has been located, and none is inferred.

The account above draws on the CHRD Prisoners of Conscience database and Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet; characterizations of the proceedings are the sources’. No independent (non-Falun Gong-affiliated) report on this case has been located.
