Tian Yuhua (田玉华) is a woman from Harbin in Heilongjiang Province. She is reported to be serving a five-year prison sentence and was recorded as being in custody as of August 2026.
According to a report by Minghui (February 19, 2026), an investigation notice by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (March 12, 2026), and the case record in the Chinese Human Rights Defenders’ Prisoners of Conscience database, Tian is a Falun Gong practitioner, a native of Shuangcheng District, who lived in the Qikailiyuan residential community in Wanggang Town, Nangang District, Harbin. The sources describe a history of pressure going back to 1996, when she began practicing, including repeated harassment, seizures, and detention by local police. On May 11, 2024, plainclothes police entered her home, searched it, and took her to the Wanggang Town police station for interrogation; she was released after 5,000 yuan was taken as bail money.
On October 25, 2025, at midday, officers of the Nangang District Public Security Bureau entered her home, seized her, and searched the residence — taking a printer, a CD burner, Falun Gong books, and religious images. She was placed in criminal detention at the Harbin City Detention Center and was later formally arrested and indicted. On February 10, 2026, the Daoli District Court tried her case; on February 13 the court sentenced her to five years in prison with a 50,000-yuan fine.
