Wang Yunliang (王云良)
Background
Wang Yunliang (王云良) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dehui City, Jilin Province, born in the 1960s or early 1970s (in his fifties as of 2025, according to a community report). He once made a living selling tofu in Dehui and later drove a pedicab to support his family. The CHRD PoC record (entered April 10, 2025) records him as male. He is currently reported held at Jilin Prison.
Case chronology
- 2000: Detained by local police and sent to one year of forced labor at Jiutai labor camp, according to a community report.
- April 14, 2011: Detained by Dehui City public security police while visiting fellow practitioner Lin Xiaoming, according to the same community report, which describes beatings and torture during the detention. He was held at the Dehui detention center and then sent to another year of forced labor, served at the Jiutai Yinmahe and Chaoyanggou labor camps. The report states he returned home on March 15, 2012.
- March 11, 2024: Taken from his home by Dehui City Public Security Bureau police, according to both the CHRD PoC case record and the community report.
- 2025: The local court sentenced him to four years in prison; the charge is recorded as unknown in the CHRD PoC record. He was then transferred to Jilin Prison. His reported release date is March 10, 2028.
- August 31, 2026: Rights Defense Network’s monthly report on mainland political prisoners lists Wang Yunliang among 171 people classified as sentenced to four years and in current custody.
