Zhang Li (张丽), born in September 1960, is an accountant from Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and a Falun Gong practitioner.
According to case records compiled by the Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) Prisoners of Conscience database and reporting by Minghui, a Falun Gong–affiliated outlet, Zhang was detained by police from the Datang station of the Yuexiu District public security bureau on December 16, 2020, and released on bail the same night. Her case was later transferred to the Liwan District procuratorate and then to the Liwan District court. She was taken into custody again on January 17, 2022, after the Liwan court approved her arrest, and on September 8, 2022, the Liwan District Court sentenced her to five years and six months in prison with a fine of 10,000 yuan. The reported release date is July 16, 2027. The charge of conviction and the place of detention have not been publicly reported.
Minghui’s account states that Zhang had been detained multiple times since 1999 in connection with her Falun Gong activities, including a three-year term of re-education through labor, and that she was repeatedly harassed by neighborhood and police personnel in the years before her 2022 sentencing. These earlier-detention claims come from a Falun Gong–affiliated source and have not been independently verified.

Several people share the romanized name Zhang Li. This profile concerns only the Guangzhou accountant born in September 1960 described above. It does not concern Zhang Li (张莉), a Nanchang resident sentenced to seven years and six months whose profile is published separately, nor other same-name individuals.
