- April 2018 onward — Zhang is held at the Kalaqin Banner Jinshan detention center; the banner public security bureau transfers the case to the Kalaqin Banner procuratorate, which prosecutes him (same source).
- August 1, 2018 — The Kalaqin Banner court tries Zhang; the notice reports he enters a not-guilty plea in court, and the court sentences him. The sentence length is not stated (same source; CHRD lists the charge and sentence as “Unknown”).
