Zhu Xiaoqing (朱孝清)

Zhu Xiaoqing (朱孝清)

Zhu Xiaoqing (朱孝清), born in 1967, is a farmer from Qixingpao Farm in Nenjiang City, Heilongjiang Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1999.

On February 10, 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown period, Zhu was seized at home by police from the local farm police station for distributing Falun Gong materials. Officers searched her home and confiscated her Falun Gong belongings. She was placed under residential surveillance for six months.

In November 2020, a local court sentenced Zhu to nine years and six months in prison; the formal charge was not specified in the reporting. She was transferred to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison, where, according to the case records, she remains. Her term runs to August 9, 2029.

Earlier detentions were also reported: she was detained for fifteen days in April 2003 after traveling to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, held in a brainwashing center afterward, and was detained twice more — for fifteen days in 2012 and again in August 2013 — after police raids on her home. All of these accounts come from Falun Gong-affiliated reporting and have not been independently verified by a second source.

As of August 31, 2026, Zhu was reported in custody, serving the 9-year-6-month term imposed in November 2020.

Not to be confused with the retired senior prosecutor also named 朱孝清 (born 1950, Zhejiang; former Deputy Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, 2004–2014) — a different person.
