Zou Bin (邹斌) — Person Profile

Zou Bin (邹斌)

Zou Bin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chongqing, currently serving a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence. He is listed among the 1,638 in-custody political prisoners and prisoners of conscience documented in the August 31, 2026 issue 131 prisoner census published by the Rights Defense Network (维权网), in the cohort sentenced to two years and six months.

Zou, about 47, lived in the Nanping Huayuan Road residential area of Chongqing's Nan'an District and graduated from Chongqing Jiaotong University. He had previously been subjected to re-education through labor and imprisonment related to his Falun Gong practice: Minghui reports a labor-education detention beginning in May 2001, and a trial in late March 2011 at the Qingchuan County Court in Guangyuan, Sichuan, after which he was given a suspended sentence and released to care for his family.

Current detention: On May 22, 2024, Zou was taken by police from the Huayuan Road Police Station of the Nanping branch of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau, and his home was searched. He was placed in criminal detention at the Nan'an District Detention Center in Chongqing, where he was subsequently arrested and prosecuted. On December 19, 2024, he was tried by the Jiulongpo District People's Court of Chongqing.

In late March 2025 it was learned that, about a month earlier, Zou had been sentenced by the Jiulongpo District Court to two years and six months in prison. His term runs through November 21, 2026. The charge against him has not been reported. According to Minghui, Zou's parents have passed away and his elder brother, who has disabled legs, relied on his care; the brother wrote repeatedly to the authorities asking for Zou's release.

Not to be confused with Zou Peifu (邹佩夫), Zou Feiyu (邹飞宇), Zou Huaxiang (邹华香), or Zou Jiacheng (邹家成) — all different people sharing only the surname 邹.
