杨治金 (Yang Zhijin)
杨治金 (Yang Zhijin), born February 13, 1949, is from Shenzhuang Village, Yuehe Town, Tongbai County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. He is also known as 杨志金 and 杨治全. A Christian, he served as head of the Tong-Sui church of the Full Scope Church (全范围教会) in Suizhou, Hubei Province.
On March 19, 2024, police from Suizhou’s Zengdu District detained Yang at his home in Henan. According to the reports, his detention followed his efforts to hire lawyers for fellow believers who had been detained; officers searched his home and seized hymnals, a New Testament, and a tablet computer.
On April 25, 2024, the Zengdu District Procuratorate approved his arrest on suspicion of “using a cult to undermine law enforcement” (利用邪教组织破坏法律实施罪), the charge the authorities apply to the Full Scope Church network. On October 5, 2024, the Zengdu District Procuratorate indicted him on the same charge. (The “cult” designation is the authorities’ characterization of the Full Scope Church, applied through Criminal Law Article 300; the profile attributes, not adopts, the charge language.)
In August 2025, his case was heard together with about 28 co-defendants in the “Suizhou case” (随州教案), after which the authorities split the proceedings into two-person cases. On May 22, 2026, the Zengdu District Court sentenced Yang to three years and two months in prison and fined him 8,000 yuan, for cross-provincial Christian fellowship activities, ministry training, and assisting fellow believers in hiring lawyers. His term is recorded as ending on May 18, 2027. He is reported as held at the Suizhou City Detention Center in Hubei Province.
In the 31-person Suizhou case, sentences ranged from four years to two years and four months. As of August 31, 2026, Yang was listed among in-custody political prisoners in the three-year-two-month sentence group.
