Liang Shaolin (梁少琳), born in 1951, is a retired engineer and Falun Gong practitioner from Maoming, Guangdong Province. A former engineer at the Maoming Petrochemical Corporation, she has been detained and sentenced three times in connection with her practice of Falun Gong, most recently in 2024 to a four-year prison term.
After October 1999, Liang traveled to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and was subsequently placed in re-education through labor for two years and three months, later transferred through local and provincial “transformation” (brainwashing) centers, and released in March 2005, according to practitioner-community records. She was detained again on September 24, 2009, in Maoming, and sentenced to nine years in prison in 2010.
On January 29, 2024, police from the Jiahe station in Guangzhou’s Baiyun District detained Liang at her younger sister’s residence in Baiyun. She was held in the Baiyun District detention center, then indicted and brought before the Liwan District Court in Guangzhou. The court sentenced her to four years in prison; the specific charge is not publicly documented. In February 2025 she was transferred to the Guangdong Provincial Women’s Prison, where her family reports her treatment improved after their intervention.
