Liu Yingjun (刘英君)

Liu Yingjun (刘英君) is a resident of Gezhenpu in the Ganjingzi District of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China, and a Falun Gong practitioner. In 2025 he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

On May 10, 2024, Liu was detained by police while hanging a Falun Gong banner outdoors, according to the reporting on the case. Officers then searched his home, where they seized cash and personal belongings. During the search, a fellow practitioner, Wang Chengmei, happened to call Liu; police used the call to locate and detain her as well. Both were held at the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian, placed in criminal detention, formally arrested, and indicted; the Ganjingzi District Procuratorate approved the arrests in July 2024.

The Ganjingzi District Court held two trial sessions in the case, on January 9 and March 14, 2025. In late April 2025 the court sentenced Liu Yingjun to seven years in prison with a fine of 100,000 yuan, and sentenced Wang Chengmei to one year and six months with a fine of 20,000 yuan. Both filed appeals. The specific criminal charge used and the facility where Liu is held are not stated in the available reporting. His recorded term ends on May 9, 2031.

Disambiguation note: this Liu Yingjun (刘英君) is not the PLA figure Liu Yingjun (刘英俊, 1945–1966), whose name is written with different characters.

As of the latest dated evidence available (May 2025 case report; prisoner-database record entered June 2025), Liu Yingjun is serving this sentence.
