Lu Lifang (陆丽芳) is a Falun Gong practitioner from the Jiedong District of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, born in 1958. She is currently serving a six-year prison sentence.
On the afternoon of May 30, 2024, police from the Quxi Police Station in Jiedong District detained Lu at the home of fellow practitioner Wu Fengyin, in what case records describe as a premeditated, coordinated operation: several practitioners were detained at the same time, homes were searched, and even non-practicing family members present were briefly taken to the station. Lu was held at the Jiedong District Detention Center, placed under criminal detention, then formally arrested and indicted.
In February 2025, the Jiedong District Court tried Lu together with four co-defendants — Wu Yanduo, Wu Fengyin, Yang Jingxia, and Lu Yuanyuan — in a video hearing. The case record describes the hearing as perfunctory; no verdict was announced in court. Lu was later sentenced to six years in prison with a 60,000-yuan fine; the criminal charge was never publicly identified. Her co-defendants received sentences ranging from thirteen months to five and a half years. In August 2025, she was transferred to the Guangdong Women’s Prison in Guangzhou. Her sentence is reported to run through May 29, 2030.
Status note: she is reported to be serving her sentence as of the latest available evidence (a case record updated August 9, 2025). Her status beyond that date has not been independently confirmed.
