Sun Xianting (孙显亭)
Sun Xianting (孙显亭) is a resident of Tonghua City, Jilin Province, and a Falun Gong practitioner. On the night of August 25, 2022, he was followed and arrested by police from the Shanxia police station in Erdaojiang District while distributing Falun Gong materials; his home was searched, and several thousand yuan in cash and other belongings were taken, according to the Falun Gong-run outlet Minghui and the Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) Prisoners of Conscience database.
He was held at the Liuhe County Detention Center for nearly a year. The Liuhe County court then tried his case in secret — his family was not notified and was not permitted to attend — and sentenced him to four years and six months; the charge is not specified. In August 2023 he was transferred to Jilin Prison, where his term runs to February 24, 2027.
