Ms. Su Huili (苏慧丽) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Luohe City, Henan Province. In May 2023 she was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, with a fine of 5,000 yuan, for practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Su was arrested in October 2022 by the Ganhechen Police Station while studying Falun Gong books with other practitioners in a private home. Her arrest was formally approved on December 2, 2022. She stood trial in May 2023 and was sentenced to four and a half years with a 5,000-yuan fine. She was reported to be serving her sentence in Xinxiang Prison.
As of August 31, 2026, she remained listed among political and conscience prisoners reported in custody in mainland China.
Falun Gong is a spiritual practice that has been suppressed by the Chinese authorities since 1999. Sentences in such cases are typically imposed under Article 300 of the PRC Criminal Law (“using a cult organization to undermine implementation of the law”), though no court document for Ms. Su’s case has been made public.
