Chen Yanhua (陈艳花)

Chen Yanhua (陈艳花) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. On April 10, 2026, the Wucheng District Court sentenced her to four years in prison with a 30,000-yuan fine; her husband, Qian Mingfen, was sentenced to five years in the same case. She appears in the Rights Defense Network (维权网) monthly report of August 31, 2026 (Issue 131) among 1,638 reported current political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in mainland China.

Chen was among four Jinhua practitioners arrested in 2025. She was summoned by the Jindong District Police Department and arrested on July 22, 2025, then released on bail on August 7. The Wucheng District Procuratorate indicted all four on a charge of “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization,” the standard charge used against Falun Gong practitioners in China. The Wucheng District Court accepted the case on December 17, 2025; after a hearing on April 10, 2026 — presiding judge Huang Junwei — all four were convicted. Chen and her husband appealed to the Jinhua City Intermediate Court on April 19, 2026; the appeal was denied on June 2.

According to Minghui.org reporting, she is serving her sentence at the Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison in Hangzhou. The same reporting states that her pension was suspended on an order from the Jindong District Police Department.
