Chen Yanhua (陈艳花) — Media Profile & Archive

Media Profile & Archive — Chen Yanhua (陈艳花). This archive preserves the source basis, identification method, and evidentiary limits behind the Person Profile. It supports Chen Yanhua (陈艳花).

Person profile

Chen Yanhua (陈艳花) — Falun Gong practitioner from Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province; sentenced April 10, 2026 to four years by the Wucheng District Court; appeal denied June 2, 2026; reported serving at the Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison in Hangzhou; listed in the Issue 131 roster (August 31, 2026) as a reported current political prisoner.

Identification method

The Issue 131 roster’s English edition lists “Chen Yanhua” with no Chinese characters. Two independent sources documenting the same Jinhua prosecution identify her:

  • Minghui.org (English), July 1, 2026 — “Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province: Four Locals Sentenced to Prison for Practicing Falun Gong.” Calls her “Ms. Chen Yanhua,” the wife of Qian Mingfen, sentenced to four years with a 30,000-yuan fine. Same four defendants, same sentences, same court, same judges, same dates.
  • World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (Chinese), July 3, 2026 — case notice on the same four-person prosecution, naming the wife as 陈艳花, with sentences, dates, and officials matching the Minghui report line for line (钱明芬 5 年 / 陈艳花 4 年 / 钱恩棣 2 年 3 个月 / 吴嫦娥 1 年 3 个月缓刑 1 年 10 个月; 黄俊伟, 郑刚, 罗晓庆, 褚海燕, 邬雪红).

The romanization “Chen Yanhua” maps to 陈艳花 through the shared case: same spouse (Qian Mingfen), same city, same 4-year sentence, same dates. This is the basis for the Chinese-character identification. The forms 陈艳华 and 陈燕华 are guesses and must not be used.

Source chronology

  • July 22, 2025 — Summoned by the Jindong District Police Department; arrested. Released on bail August 7, 2025. (Minghui)
  • December 17, 2025 — Wucheng District Court accepts the case against the four practitioners. Prosecutor: Wu Xuehong, Wucheng District Procuratorate. Charge: “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization.” (Minghui)
  • April 10, 2026 — Hearing; presiding judge Huang Junwei, assistant judges Zheng Gang and Luo Xiaoqing, acting clerk Chu Haiyan. Convictions for all four; Chen Yanhua sentenced to four years, 30,000-yuan fine. (Minghui; WOIPFG)
  • April 19, 2026 — Chen and Qian Mingfen appeal to the Jinhua City Intermediate Court. (Minghui)
  • June 2, 2026 — Intermediate court rules against the couple. (Minghui; WOIPFG)
  • July 1–3, 2026 — Minghui and WOIPFG reports published. Minghui: Chen serving at Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison, Hangzhou; pension suspended per Jindong District Police Department order. WOIPFG: Chen taken to 浙江省女子监狱; Qian Mingfen and Qian Endi likely at 浙江省第四监狱 (needs further confirmation).
  • August 31, 2026 — Rights Defense Network / 维权网, Issue 131 monthly report (1,638 reported current-custody cases) lists “Chen Yanhua” in the A–Z roster (English edition, §C). Coherent with custody: a person sentenced April 2026 to four years would be in custody on this date.

Source grading

  • Minghui.org, July 1, 2026 — advocacy outlet reporting, single lineage; read directly (full article). Detailed, internally consistent case record with named officials and dates. Grade: source-attributed, partially unverified.
  • WOIPFG case notice, July 3, 2026 — advocacy/investigative notice (Chinese), read via search index; publisher must click-verify. Corroborates Minghui on every material fact and supplies the Chinese character form. Grade: source-attributed, partially unverified.
  • Issue 131 roster — listing evidence only; supplies the current-custody classification (dated 2026-08-31), not case details. No second independent lineage for the case facts.

Conflicts and caveats

  • No conflict between the two case sources; all material facts agree. The WOIPFG notice notes that Qian Mingfen and Qian Endi’s placement at the Zhejiang Fourth Prison “still needs further confirmation” — that caveat applies to them, not to Chen (both sources agree she is at the Zhejiang Women’s Prison).
  • The Minghui article carries advocacy framing (“standard pretext used to criminalize”); the public copy quotes the reported charge neutrally with attribution.
  • No prior case history (arrests, sentences) for Chen Yanhua herself is documented in the located sources.
  • Present-day status beyond the dated roster listing (August 31, 2026) and the July 2026 reports is not independently confirmed; nothing is asserted beyond those dates.

Evidentiary limits

No court judgment, official statement, or family testimony has been located; all case details come from the two advocacy sources listed above and are attributed as such. The Chinese character form rests on the WOIPFG notice’s naming of 陈艳花 in the same four-person case — if a primary document gives a different form, the profile must be corrected.
