Overview
Sui Muqing (隋牧青; also associated with the name 陈武权 in controlled records) is a Chinese human-rights lawyer and rights defender who was detained during the 709 crackdown.
Rights-defense work and repression
The controlled baseline documents Sui’s rights-defense legal work, approximately five months of undisclosed-location residential surveillance during the 709 crackdown, the permanent revocation of his law license in 2018, and continuing public rights-defense and legal advocacy. A January 29, 2024 police summons in Qingdao was reported in rights-monitoring sources.
Current status
Sui is not currently known to be imprisoned. The record does not project historical detention or the 2024 summons into present custody. Exact 2026 professional, travel, surveillance, and police-control restrictions remain under verification.
Evidence baseline
The P1 baseline includes Amnesty International, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, Front Line Defenders, China Change, Human Rights in China, and ChinaAid. Original detention, RSDL, release, disbarment, and summons instruments remain priority primary-source targets.
