Court Extends Pastor Huang Yizi Case Deadline to November 24

ZHEJIANG, September 17, 2026 — The Pingyang County People’s Court has again extended the case-handling period in the criminal case against Pastor Huang Yizi, with the new deadline set for November 24, according to a court text notice received by his wife, Lin Aili.

ChinaAid reported on September 17 that the court sent the notice to Lin on August 21. The notice did not state a reason for the extension.

Family-received court notice

The evidentiary chain for this development begins with the court communication received directly by Huang’s family. ChinaAid subsequently reported the notice. FreeChina.live records the distinction between the underlying family-received court communication and the later NGO report.

Huang, pastor of Fengwo Church in Shuitou Town, Pingyang County, has been detained since June 26, 2025. Authorities took him into custody on suspicion of “illegal business operations,” according to ChinaAid’s reporting based in part on statements by his wife.

ChinaAid reported that four other Christians from Zhejiang detained at the same time had since been released or had other legal restrictions lifted, leaving Huang as the only one of the five still detained as the case proceeds.
