Cheng Mingjuan

Cheng Mingjuan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun City, Jilin Province. Officers of the Lyuyuan District Police Station arrested her at home around 7 p.m. on September 10, 2023, raided her residence, and confiscated Falun Gong books along with paper currency imprinted with information about the practice. It was later confirmed that she was sentenced to four years in prison.

This was not her first encounter with the police. On the morning of March 9, 2016, officers from the Changchun City Domestic Security Division and the Yihe Road Police Station arrested her at home, ransacked the residence, and seized Falun Gong books and a computer. She was released on bail the same day after failing the physical examination. These are the details as reported by the Falun Gong-affiliated source; no court judgment or police record has been independently located.

No verdict document, court name, sentencing date, or place of detention has been publicly reported for the four-year sentence. A rights-defense roster dated August 31, 2026 lists her among reported current-custody cases. Her present whereabouts and whether she remains in custody are unconfirmed.
