Ding Huimin (丁慧敏) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Weihai City in Shandong Province who was sentenced to one year in prison in June 2026 for her faith.
On the morning of October 27, 2025, Ding was at a rented dwelling in Changfeng Village, in Weihai’s Jing District, assembling desktop calendars carrying Falun Gong messages together with fellow practitioners Yu Jingtao and Xiao Bo. Officers of the Jing District Domestic Security Office who had been watching the dwelling arrested all three. Police seized the calendars along with a large quantity of Falun Gong materials and personal belongings; the three women were taken to a local detention center and placed under criminal detention.
A month later, on November 27, 2025, the same domestic security office arrested practitioner Wang Deshui. The four were indicted and their cases were forwarded to the Rongcheng City Court, which sits under Weihai’s jurisdiction.
A trial date was set for April 23, 2026. On June 2, 2026, the Rongcheng City Court sentenced all four: Yu Jingtao to six years, Wang Deshui to three and a half years, Xiao Bo to three years, and Ding Huimin to one year.
Ding’s one-year term, imposed in June 2026, would run to approximately June 2027. Her place of incarceration has not been publicly reported.
*Identity note: this Ding Huimin is not Ding Huimin (丁惠民), the former leader of the 1978–1979 Xishuangbanna sent-down-youth protest movement — a different person.*
