Lin Qiaoqing was an overseas Chinese democracy activist active in organizations associated with the Chinese Freedom and Democracy Party and the later Minlianzhen–Zimindang network. A retrospective China Spring organizational history records that the party’s third world congress on August 14–15, 1993 elected Lin to the central committee and that chair Wang Ce subsequently appointed him secretary-general. The same history places Lin among participants in protests surrounding the Seattle APEC meetings in November 1993 and among signers of the Seattle Declaration reportedly published by World Journal on November 23, 1993.
Later movement and independent-media records show that Lin remained active through the late 1990s and early 2000s. A Beijing Spring account of the 1998 campaign over Wang Ce’s detention names Lin as a senior organizer and participant in New York protest activity. Radio Free Asia interviewed Lin on January 13, 2002 and identified him as the organization’s secretary-general; Voice of America reported the following day and identified him as a vice-chair. Because these sources use different titles, this archive does not infer a precise appointment sequence without organization-issued primary records.
