Verified profile
Liu Xiaobo was a writer, literary critic and democracy advocate. He participated in the 1989 Tiananmen movement, later co-authored Charter 08, was sentenced to eleven years in prison, and received the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize while imprisoned. He died in 2017 after being transferred from prison for treatment of late-stage cancer.
