Wu Xuecan was a Chinese journalist and editor associated with the People’s Daily Overseas Edition. He was imprisoned after the 1989 democracy movement in connection with publishing material sympathetic to Zhao Ziyang and later continued journalism and public-affairs work in exile in the United States.
He died at home in the United States on September 25, 2015 after more than four months of hospice care.
