Purpose

Support accurate multilingual publication in Chinese, English, French, German and Spanish while preserving source meaning, evidence status and historically precise role terminology.

Core responsibilities

  • Translate or edit approved public content and research summaries.
  • Maintain exact names, dates, organizational titles and source attribution.
  • Apply Free China’s historical-role terminology rules rather than turning temporary media labels into permanent titles.
  • Check counterpart links, excerpts, SEO descriptions and reader-layer consistency.
  • Flag ambiguous or contested source wording for research review.

Qualifications

  • Strong command of at least one target language plus English or Chinese.
  • Excellent writing/editing judgment and attention to nuance.
  • Experience with translation, journalism, research or public-interest publishing helpful.
  • Ability to preserve distinctions between quoted source language and Free China editorial classification.

Time and reporting

Flexible project-based commitment. Works with the Multilingual Coordinator and relevant research/publishing leads.

Privacy and ethics

Follow rights, source-attribution, privacy and evidence controls. Do not strengthen or soften claims through translation.
