Chen Anjun (陈岸君) — Media Profile & Archive

Media Profile & Archive — Chen Anjun (陈岸君). This archive preserves the source chronology, provenance, and evidentiary limits of the reporting behind his Person Profile. It supports Chen Anjun (陈岸君).

Person profile

Chen Anjun (陈岸君) — born 1971; Leshan, Sichuan native; former wushu instructor at Chengdu’s Tuqiao Police Academy; Falun Gong practitioner detained repeatedly since 2001. Profile covers: the 2001 Beijing appeal and 1.5-year labor-camp term; the 2003 seizure, hospitalization, and brainwashing-center detention; the 2005 Leshan TV-broadcast interception and December 2005 arrest; the May 18, 2006 fourteen-and-a-half-year sentence and prison transfers through Ya’an, Deyang, and Aba; the reported 2021 re-arrest; and the reported 2023 three-year sentence at Jiazhou Prison.

Source chronology

  • 2001 — Minghui (Chinese and English reports). Chen traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong; he was seized by the Jinniu “610” office and the Tuqiao street office, sent to the Xinhua Labor Camp for eighteen months, and dismissed from the police academy.
  • Early 2003 — Minghui. Seized again; hunger strike; hospitalized March 31, 2003 at the Chadianzi brain-injury hospital in Jinniu District; transferred mid-April 2003 to a brainwashing center in Pixian; family requests for release were denied.
  • June 2005 – December 2005 — Minghui. With Li Ronglai, Wei Lang, Lu Dongrong and others, Chen intercepted Leshan TV broadcasts to air Falun Gong material; a city-wide manhunt followed. On December 12, 2005 he was seized at an internet café in Leshan’s Shawan district and held at the Shizhushan Detention Center, where the reports describe torture.
  • May 18, 2006 — Minghui (Chinese and English). Sentenced to fourteen years and six months. The Chinese report names the sentencing court as the Leshan City Court (乐山市法院); the English report says the Zhong District Court in Leshan City — a minor conflict. Held in Ya’an Prison, then Deyang’s Chuanxi Prison at Huangxu Town (from September 2010), then Aba Prison. Torture accounts (beatings, head slammed into walls, forced heavy “control clothing” in summer heat, sleep deprivation) appear only in Falun Gong-affiliated reporting.
  • February 18, 2014 — English Minghui, “Former Police Academy Instructor Severely Tortured in Prison.” Profiles the 2006 case and the Ya’an-to-Deyang-to-Aba transfer chain (Aba Prison Ward 7).
  • Circa 2021 — CHRD / tenchu database (poc_c_00445, updated June 9, 2026). Records “Taken Away 2021”; no date, place, or circumstances given.
  • May 16, 2023 — Minghui (Chinese), “曾遭十四年半冤狱 原警察学校教官陈岸君再遭枉判.” Reports a new three-year sentence; the time and place of arrest, the sentencing date, and the cause are all stated as unknown. Says he had already been serving the term at Jiazhou Prison (嘉州监狱, a.k.a. 五马坪监狱) for two years.
  • May 28, 2023 (updated) — Minghui victim library, i13819. Consolidated biography of 陈岸君 covering the 2001 labor-camp term, the 2003 detention, the 2005–2006 TV-interception case, and the reported 2023 three-year sentence.
  • June 9, 2026 (updated) — CHRD / tenchu database record 3139 / poc_c_00445. Lists CHEN AN JUN, born 1971-12-04, Leshan Sichuan, Tuqiao instructor; 2006 14.5-year TV-interception sentence; 2023 3-year sentence; Jiazhou Prison; charge field 未知 (Unknown); status “无新消息 No further information”; release-date field shows “2024” (database value only).
  • August 31, 2026 — Rights Defense Network / 维权网, Issue 131 monthly report (Chinese and English editions). Lists 陈岸君 / “Chen Anjun” in the in-custody “sentenced to 3 years, 110 people” group. The roster classifies its entries as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in custody (dated source claim).

Source grading

  • Issue 131 report (Chinese + English editions) — the roster source itself; primary for the roster equation and the Chinese-character resolution. High for what it lists (name, sentence group, in-custody classification as of August 31, 2026); it provides no case detail beyond the listing.
  • CHRD / tenchu 中国大陆良心犯数据库 (poc_c_00445) — structured prisoner record; primary for birth date, occupation, facility, and the “no further information” status. Medium-high; its “2024” release-date field is a database value without stated sourcing.
  • Minghui (Chinese and English) + Minghui victim library — Falun Gong-affiliated press; the only source class with sustained case coverage (2001–2023). Used for dated events, sentences, and transfers. Medium for case facts; torture and mistreatment accounts are the source’s claims only, with no independent corroboration; legal characterizations (e.g., “冤狱”, “枉判”) are not adopted.

Conflicts and caveats

  • The tenchu database’s release-date field value “2024” conflicts with the Issue 131 roster’s August 2026 in-custody listing. Neither is independently confirmed; the Person body asserts no present custody or release status.
  • The sentencing court for the 2006 term is reported as 乐山市法院 (Minghui Chinese) versus the Zhong District Court in Leshan City (Minghui English). Unresolved.
  • The charge for the reported 2023 three-year sentence is unknown: tenchu lists 未知; Minghui (May 2023) states the arrest time, sentencing time, and cause are all unknown. The Person body reports only that a three-year sentence was reported.
  • The birth date (1971-12-04) is agreed by Minghui and tenchu but has no official-document corroboration; graded PROBABLE.
  • Torture and mistreatment accounts appear only in Falun Gong-affiliated reporting; no independent corroboration was located, and the Person body does not present them as established fact.
  • The candidate character form 陈安均 and any Hunan/Chenzhou petitioning-rights identity do not match this person and must not be merged into this record.

Evidentiary limits

No court judgments, police records, or official Chinese government statements were located for any custodial episode. Primary evidence is Falun Gong-affiliated press (2001–2023), the CHRD/tenchu structured prisoner record, and the Issue 131 roster (August 31, 2026). The 2021 re-arrest has no documented circumstances; the 2023 sentence has no documented charge, arrest date, or sentencing date.
