Media Profile & Archive — Chen Jinxiu (陈金秀). This archive preserves the source chronology, provenance, and evidentiary limits of the reporting behind her Person Profile. It supports Chen Jinxiu (陈金秀).
Person profile
Chen Jinxiu (陈金秀) — female Falun Gong practitioner, 67 as of July 2026, of Jiayu County, Xianning, Hubei; seized at home April 2, 2025; tried May 28, 2025 with no announced verdict; sentenced to three years and six months (disclosed to family late 2025); located by family at Hankou Prison in mid-May 2026; prior history of re-education-through-labor, a prison term, and brainwashing-center detentions per a Falun Gong-affiliated investigative notice. Profile covers: the April 2025 seizure and the police units involved; the detention-center and hospital custody chain; the May 2025 trial; the six-month loss of contact; the family’s discovery of her whereabouts; and the notice’s account of her earlier persecution history.
Source chronology
- April 2, 2025 (morning) — WOIPFG notice. Personnel from the Jiayu County Public Security Bureau, Xinjie Township police station, the neighborhood committee, and Xianning City special police entered Chen’s home and took her away; she was placed in the Jiayu County Detention Center. She was then transferred to the Xianning Zhenjitang rheumatism specialty hospital under custody.
- May 28, 2025 — WOIPFG notice. Chen was tried by the Jiayu County Court; the court announced no verdict at that time.
- Mid-2025 — WOIPFG notice. Chen was moved to the Wuhan Wuzhong psychiatric hospital in Xianning’s Wenquan district and then to the drug-rehabilitation treatment center of the Xianning Zhenjitang Chinese Medicine Hospital; the family then lost contact with her for roughly half a year.
- Late 2025 — WOIPFG notice. Two prison police officers from a Wuhan prison visited Chen’s sister’s home, said Chen had been sentenced to three years and six months, and refused to disclose the detention location.
- Mid-May 2026 — WOIPFG notice. After the family checked multiple Wuhan prisons, they confirmed Chen was held at Hankou Prison (汉口监狱). Attempts to deposit living expenses failed even after the family obtained the required “prison bank card”; local personnel later visited the family asking about it.
- July 14, 2026 — WOIPFG investigation notice. Publishes the full case account above; reports her earlier persecution history: husband divorced under pressure, only son drowned during her labor-camp term, one-and-a-half years of re-education through labor, a prior three-year prison sentence, three brainwashing-center terms, repeated home raids and torture.
- August 31, 2026 — Rights Defense Network / 维权网, Issue 131 monthly report (Chinese and English editions). Lists 陈金秀 / “Chen Jinxiu” in the in-custody “sentenced to 3 years 6 months, 126 people” group. The roster classifies its entries as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in custody (dated source claim).
Source grading
- Issue 131 report (Chinese + English editions) — the roster source itself; primary for the roster equation and the Chinese-character resolution. High for what it lists (name, sentence group, in-custody classification as of August 31, 2026); it provides no case detail beyond the listing.
- WOIPFG investigation notice (July 14, 2026) — Falun Gong-affiliated investigative organization; the only source with case narrative. Used for dated events, facilities, family contacts, and earlier persecution history. Medium for case facts; the organization’s legal characterizations are its own framing and are not adopted; the notice is a campaign document whose facts have no independent corroboration.
Conflicts and caveats
- No conflict between the two sources: both place 陈金秀 / Chen Jinxiu at a 3-years-6-months sentence and in custody as of mid/late 2026. Neither source provides the sentencing court, the sentencing date, or the formal charge; the Person body reports only what is sourced.
- The notice says the May 2025 trial produced no verdict; the three-and-a-half-year sentence was disclosed to the family in late 2025 by prison police. The court that issued the sentence and the date of sentencing are not stated — do not present them as known.
- The earlier one-and-a-half-year labor-camp term and the earlier three-year prison sentence are reported without dates; the Person body reports them as undated source claims.
- The age (67 as of July 2026) implies a birth year around 1958/1959; no birth date is sourced — graded PROBABLE, not published as a fact.
- The notice names officials and units it holds responsible. These names are reproduced in the archive only; inclusion here does not establish any individual’s wrongdoing, and the list must not be presented as a court finding.
- The 陈家秀 (Sichuan Suining) case in a 2013 WOIPFG notice is a different person (different characters, different place) and must not be merged into this record.
Evidentiary limits
No court judgments, police records, or official Chinese government statements were located for any custodial episode. All case detail comes from a single Falun Gong-affiliated source class (the WOIPFG notice). The charge, the sentencing court, and the sentencing date for the current term are unknown. Corroboration from the CHRD/tenchu prisoner database, Minghui, or other independent sources was sought and not found (searched 2026-09-24).
