**Dou Lina** is a Falun Gong practitioner from Siping City, Jilin Province, whose persecution has been documented in reports by the Falun Dafa information network Minghui. According to Minghui’s July 2018 profile, she began practicing Falun Gong in 1997 and attributed her recovery from multiple illnesses to the practice. After the Chinese government banned Falun Gong in July 1999, she was arrested in Beijing while appealing for the right to practice and was taken to a forced labor camp.
In 2008, Dou was arrested again and sentenced to three years in prison, which she served in Heizuizi Prison. Reports describe the torture she endured there: inmates forced her to sit motionless on a small bench from 5:00 a.m. until the early afternoon of the following day; guards subjected her to “brainwashing” sessions; and she was tortured with the “death bed” — her limbs tied to the four posts of a bed so tightly that her body was stretched to its limit. Prison staff turned up television and music volume to drown out her screams, denied her restroom access, and forced a urine-soaked mop into her mouth, breaking one of her front teeth. The named inmate-assigned watcher in the account was Wang Lixin.
The Rights Defense Network’s Issue 131 in-custody roster (August 31, 2026) lists a “Dou Lina,” indicating she is reported as currently in custody. The circumstances of any post-2011 detention have not been located in any published source; the 2026 listing should be read as a roster claim awaiting corroboration.
**Sources and limitations.** The biographical and torture account comes from a single Minghui profile (July 26, 2018), a practitioner-run news network; no court documents, official records, or independent press coverage have been located. The current-custody indication comes only from the rights-group roster listing. Neither the courts nor the authorities have commented publicly on her case. Her Chinese name has not been located in any source checked.
