Gu Hongying / 顾红英

Gu Hongying (顾红英) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting documents repeated detentions in 2016, 2024 and 2025; an August 2026 advocacy notice reported that she had received a four-year prison sentence.

Earlier detentions

Minghui reported that Gu was detained on April 12, 2016 while distributing Falun Gong informational materials at Liaocheng University and was held for ten days. It also reported a March 17, 2024 arrest by Xiangjiang Police Station officers, a search of her home, and five days of detention later that month.

2025–2026 case

Minghui and a World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) notice report that officers raided Gu’s home on the evening of November 4, 2025 and took her to the police station the following morning. WOIPFG states that she was transferred to Liaocheng Detention Center on November 6 and that the case later moved through the Dongchangfu District Procuratorate to the Dongchangfu District Court.

Minghui reported a court hearing scheduled for June 17, 2026. WOIPFG’s August 3, 2026 notice states that a lawyer entered a not-guilty defense and that Gu was subsequently sentenced to four years in prison and fined 4,000 yuan. That sentencing account comes from a single advocacy source; no court judgment has been independently located.

Status and evidence limits

Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists Gu among reported current-custody cases. Her current prison location and health status are not established in the available record. A different person named Gu Hongying who worked at Gansu Province Women’s Prison is not the same person and is excluded from this profile.
