Earlier detentions
Minghui reports that Gu was arrested in January 2008 and sent to Heizuizi Women’s Forced Labor Camp in Changchun for a one-year term. It alleges that she was beaten and shocked with an electric baton during that detention. A later retrospective gives a conflicting date for the reported beating; the discrepancy remains unresolved.
Minghui also reports that she was arrested again on November 19, 2014 by Weijin Police Station officers and held for ten days at Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
2023 arrest and 2024 sentence
According to Minghui, Gu was arrested on October 17, 2023 after being induced to go to her former workplace. She was tried with Liang Guijuan and Zhang Shufen by the Longshan District Court on March 26, 2024. Minghui reported that on April 16, 2024 Gu and Liang were each sentenced to seven years, while Zhang received three years.
