Guo Changsuo is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yakeshi City in Inner Mongolia. His Chinese-character name has not been independently verified and is not published here.
2023 arrest and 2024 sentence
Reporting by Minghui and Bitter Winter states that Guo was arrested during a Yakeshi police sweep beginning April 8, 2023. He was held at the Yakeshi City Detention Center and prosecuted together with Sun Wentian.
Both sources report a seven-year sentence for Guo, but they conflict on the first-sentencing date: Minghui gives July 9, 2024, while Bitter Winter reports September 23, 2024. Bitter Winter also uses September 23 for the final appeal rejection, so the chronology is left unresolved rather than harmonized.
Appeal and earlier detention
Reports state that the Hulunbuir Intermediate Court ordered a retrial, that family-appointed defenders entered not-guilty pleas, and that the sentences were upheld. A 2008 Minghui report also links Guo and his wife Tang Guixiang to detention at Tumuji Labor Camp; allegations of mistreatment remain source-attributed.
