Guo Yulan / 郭玉兰

Guo Yulan (郭玉兰), born in 1947, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Monitoring sources report that she was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan on September 27, 2023.

Detention and trial

Minghui reports that Guo was detained in 2020 after speaking with people about Falun Gong and later released. In December 2021, officers from Zhengzhou’s Jinshui District Police Department reportedly took her from her home and searched the residence.

A July 2023 Minghui report stated that Guo was being held in Zhengzhou No. 3 Detention Center before trial. Reports differ slightly on the hearing date: a pretrial notice referred to July 17, while the later sentencing account says the Xinzheng Court heard the cases on July 19. Family members were reportedly not permitted to attend.

Sentence and status

Minghui reported that on September 27, 2023 the court sentenced Guo to five years in prison and imposed a 50,000-yuan fine. The Prisoners of Conscience Database, updated December 19, 2023, records 郭玉兰 as imprisoned and carries a term-through field of December 2026.

Evidence limits

The criminal charge and post-trial detention facility are not documented in the reviewed sources. Detailed case facts trace back to Minghui reporting; the monitoring database cites the same evidentiary lineage. No public court judgment or independent official source was located. Guo’s custody status after the December 2023 database update has not been independently confirmed.
