Hao Yuhong (郝玉红) — Person Profile

Hao Yuhong (郝玉红), a Falun Gong practitioner from the Daxinganling area of Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to four and a half years’ imprisonment in January 2024, according to Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated publication. The Rights Defense Network’s (维权网) monthly political-prisoners report (Issue 131, August 31, 2026) lists her in its 4.5-year sentence band, confirming she remains in custody serving her term as of that date.

The case

According to Minghui.org, Ms. Hao was first detained on October 31, 2017, when officers from the Changhong Police Station arrested her together with two other practitioners, Ms. Qiao Yuhua and Ms. Shen Xiurong. She was taken to the Jiagedaqi Detention Center, and police confiscated a computer from her home.

On September 13, 2023, Ms. Hao was arrested again in Jiagedaqi and returned to the Jiagedaqi Detention Center. A Minghui sentencing record lists her as sentenced in January 2024 to four and a half years in prison; the record gives her age as 60 and her location as Daxing’anling, Heilongjiang.

A December 2025 Minghui overview of the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison, where she is held, reports that Ms. Hao was beaten by fellow inmates for refusing to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. The report states that the inmates struck her in a soundproof room — one slapped her face until her nose bled, another pinched her inner thighs, and a third nearly broke her ring finger — while a guard watched the beating on a surveillance camera and did nothing. The report states she was later moved into the same cell as one of the inmates who had beaten her, and that the abuse continued.

Earlier targeting

The October 2017 arrest and detention at the Jiagedaqi Detention Center are documented in the case record above.

Status and evidentiary limits

As of August 31, 2026, the Rights Defense Network lists 郝玉红 among political prisoners and prisoners of conscience reported to be currently in custody; a December 2025 Minghui overview reports her held at the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. Do not state a release date — sentence arithmetic from a reported term is not independently confirmed. No independent or official-source corroboration of the arrests, the sentence, or the prison abuse has been located; all records come from Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated publication, and are presented as its reported claims. This profile should not be merged with the Guangshui, Hubei official of the same romanized name listed in a 2002 Minghui roundup as an alleged persecutor — a different person in a different province and role.
