He Bin / 何斌

He Bin (何斌) is a Beijing entrepreneur and petitioner. Chinese Human Rights Defenders reported in 2025 that he was serving a four-and-a-half-year sentence for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” related to petitioning activity.

Petitioning and earlier detentions

CHRD reports that He and his wife Xu Caihong repeatedly petitioned over grievances and were detained around politically sensitive dates. ChinaAid and earlier Radio Free Asia reporting document the couple’s detention on Tiananmen Square on June 4, 2018. CHRD states that He had been detained and beaten repeatedly since 2014 around June Fourth commemorations; those abuse claims remain source-attributed.

Current sentence

CHRD’s June 2025 profile states that He had been jailed since 2024 and was serving a four-and-a-half-year sentence for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble.” ChinaAid also reports the case and identifies He as a member of the Shengai Fellowship. The sources differ on the sentence imposed on his wife Xu Caihong—CHRD gives four and a half years, while ChinaAid gives four years—but agree on He’s four-and-a-half-year term.

Evidence limits

No public court judgment or official PRC record was located. He Bin is distinct from 何彬, a Falun Gong practitioner from Haicheng, Liaoning, and that case is not merged here.
