He Chen (何趁) — Zhoukou Falun Gong Practitioner

He Chen (何趁), born December 1967, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chuanhui District in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, where she once worked at the Bayi Steel Plant. Minghui reports that she took up the practice after recovering from leukemia.

Around November 15, 2023, police searched her home in Zhoukou’s Xiwang residential community and took her into custody. She was held at the Zhoukou City Detention Center and later sentenced by the Chuanhui District Court to three years in prison. Her appeal was unsuccessful. She was subsequently transferred to the Henan Xinxiang Women’s Prison. The reported sentence term runs to November 14, 2026.

The criminal charge has not been stated by any source, and the trial date is not reported.

Earlier detention

An earlier detention is documented from July 14, 2011, when she was taken from a friend’s home and held for 37 days in connection with her Falun Gong practice, per Minghui’s reporting.

Current status

She is a sentenced prisoner with the reported term running to November 14, 2026 (in custody as of the August 2026 monthly prisoner list). No release is reported; release is not inferred from the term-end date. Her current whereabouts beyond the dated transfer to the Henan Xinxiang Women’s Prison are not established.

Name note: 何趁 is standardly read chèn; the English name “He Chen” is the attested pairing in both the CHRD prisoner-database record and the monthly prisoner roster — no correction to 何晨 or 何辰 has been made. This profile is not about 何新芳 (Guangdong, four-year sentence) or any other He Chen of record; those are separate people and are not merged here.

Wording such as “illegal” in the cited reports is the sources’ characterization.
