He Hongyan

He Hongyan is a Falun Gong practitioner from Shenze County, Hebei Province. Her Chinese-character name has not been independently confirmed and is therefore omitted. Minghui reports that she was arrested in January 2022, sentenced to five years in 2023, and transferred to Hebei Province Women’s Prison in October 2023.

2022 arrest

According to Minghui, police in Shenze County carried out a coordinated operation between midnight and 2 a.m. on January 11, 2022, arresting at least 17 Falun Gong practitioners. He Hongyan and her husband Liu Baoxing were arrested together at their home. The outlet reports that practitioners were hooded and held for interrogation at a hotel in nearby Jinzhou before transfer to detention facilities.

Trial, sentence and appeal

Minghui reports that He Hongyan was later held at Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center and stood trial before the Jinzhou City Court on April 4, 2023. On June 9, 2023, the court reportedly sentenced her to five years in prison and imposed a 40,000-yuan fine. Her appeal was accepted by the Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court in July and upheld in early October.

A December 2023 Minghui roundup reports that He was transferred to Hebei Province Women’s Prison on October 18, 2023.

Evidence limits

The entire detailed case record located for this profile comes from Minghui, a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet. No public court judgment, official government statement or independent case report was located. No reliable post-October-2023 update on release, health or later transfer has been found, so no present custody status beyond that dated source is asserted.
