Hou Xiuying (侯秀英) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Mian County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. Advocacy reporting and a prisoner-monitoring database report that she is serving a seven-year prison term imposed after a 2024 arrest.
2024 case
WOIPFG and Minghui report that Hou was arrested at home on March 1, 2024, held for fifteen days and then transferred to the Hantai District Detention Center. WOIPFG later reported that she was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison. The Prisoners of Conscience Database lists 侯秀英 as in prison and carries a February 28, 2031 release-date field.
Earlier reported imprisonment
Sources also report an earlier 2010 case. Minghui reported a four-year sentence, while WOIPFG later described that earlier term as five years. The discrepancy is unresolved and both figures remain source-attributed.
Evidence limits
Sources differ on the arresting police station in 2024 and on the name of the women’s prison in the earlier case. No public court judgment or official charge document was located. The database’s 2031 date is a monitoring-data field, not an independently confirmed release fact.
