The CHRD Prisoners of Conscience database identifies Jiang as a retired doctor from Qiye Hospital in Baiyun District, Guiyang, and reports that he began practicing Falun Gong in 1995.

The database reports that Jiang was taken into custody in early April 2024 and later sentenced by a local court to four years and six months in prison.
