Jiang Chunlin / 姜春林

Jiang Chunlin (姜春林) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao, Shandong Province. Minghui reports that he was arrested in May 2023 and later sentenced to seven years in prison.

2023 arrest and prosecution

Minghui reports that officers from Budong Police Station in Qingdao’s Laoshan District arrested Jiang on May 9, 2023 while he was helping at his son’s restaurant. Police searched his home and seized electronic equipment and Falun Gong materials. The outlet reports that authorities described Jiang as a “key target” who had been monitored for months.

The case moved through the Laoshan District Procuratorate and then the Shibei District Procuratorate in 2023. Minghui later reported that Jiang was indicted and tried by the Shibei District Court.

Sentence and prison

Minghui reports that judge Li Jianjun sentenced Jiang to seven years in prison and that he was subsequently admitted to Jinan Prison. The exact trial date and sentencing date were not stated in the available reporting and are not inferred.

Family circumstances and evidence limits

Minghui reports that Jiang’s wife, who had been seriously disabled after a stroke, died ten days after his arrest and that his request for bail to attend her funeral was refused. These circumstances remain source-attributed and have not been independently corroborated.

Rights Defense Network Issue 131 lists 姜春林 among reported in-custody prisoners in its seven-year-sentence group as of August 31, 2026. No release date is calculated.

Identity note: this Qingdao case is not the same person as a Beijing Jiang Chunlin sent to forced labor in 2009 or a Zhuanghe, Liaoning woman of the same romanized name reported in 2002.
