Jiang Minghui / 蒋明辉

Jiang Minghui (蒋明辉) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou, Gansu Province and a former deputy director of the planning department of the Lanzhou Machinery Bureau. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting states that he is serving a six-year prison sentence.

2021 arrest and prosecution

Minghui reports that Jiang was arrested on August 4, 2021 while distributing Falun Gong informational materials. His wife was told two days later by a police officer that he had been placed under criminal detention and accused of “undermining law enforcement with a cult organization.” No official charging document was located.

The same reporting states that the Chengguan District Procuratorate approved his arrest later that month and that the case proceeded to trial on April 7, 2023.

Sentence and appeal

Minghui reports that on July 10, 2023, the Chengguan District Court sentenced Jiang to six years in prison and fined him 20,000 yuan. The outlet reported that he filed an appeal, but no appeal outcome has been located.

Earlier imprisonment

Falun Gong-affiliated reporting also describes an earlier seven-year sentence connected to a December 2004 arrest. Sources agree on the seven-year term but differ on whether sentencing occurred in May or July 2005. Jiang was later released in 2011, according to the same reporting.

Status and evidence limits

A Minghui roundup dated January 22, 2025 listed Jiang as serving his six-year term at Lanzhou Prison. No more recent prison-placement record, official judgment, or independent non-Falun-Gong reporting was located. The charge wording above remains source-attributed rather than presented as a confirmed court finding.
