Jiang Nan / 姜楠

Jiang Nan (姜楠) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Linghai, Liaoning Province, born in 1981 according to rights-monitoring records. The same records identify his mother as Lu Suping (卢素平).

Earlier reported case

Rights Defense Network and the Prisoners of Conscience Database report that Jiang and his mother were previously sentenced in 2013 in connection with their Falun Gong practice—Jiang to three years and Lu to three and a half years.

2025 detention and trial

According to those records, Jiang and his mother were taken away by Linghai police on June 2, 2025. Jiang was held at the Linghai Detention Center. They were tried at the Linghai Court on December 22, 2025.

Sentence

The monitoring records report that on December 26, 2025, Jiang and Lu were each sentenced to six years in prison and fined 15,000 yuan. The Prisoners of Conscience Database gives a term endpoint of June 1, 2031. A Rights Defense Network article contains an apparent “2026” typo in its opening sentence, but the body chronology, trial date, term calculation, and database record consistently support December 26, 2025 as the sentencing date.

Status and evidence limits

The formal criminal charge is not established; the prisoner database lists it as unknown. Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists Jiang among reported current prisoners. No court judgment, official PRC record, or current prison assignment was located. The June 2031 date is retained as a monitoring-record term endpoint rather than an independently confirmed release date.
