Jin Baocun (金宝存) is a Falun Gong practitioner and military veteran from Wanghua District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Minghui reports that he was sentenced in late 2024 to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.
2024 case
Minghui reports that Jin was arrested on April 24, 2024 at a farmers’ market in Wanghua District and released on bail the next day. On November 4, 2024, the Wanghua District Court held a hearing at his home. The outlet later reported a three-year prison sentence and a 10,000-yuan fine.
Minghui reported in March 2025 that Jin had been transferred to Jinzhou Prison.
Earlier reported detention history
Falun Gong-affiliated reporting describes earlier detention beginning in 2000 and a prison term imposed after a September 2009 arrest. Sources conflict on the length of that earlier term: a later profile gives three years, while contemporaneous 2010 reporting and a 2013 account give four years. That discrepancy remains unresolved.
Status and evidence limits
Rights Defense Network Issue 131 lists Jin Baocun among reported current prisoners in its three-year-sentence group as of August 31, 2026. The formal criminal charge and exact conviction date in the current case are not established in the sources reviewed. One Chinese report renders his name as 金宝纯; the canonical form used here is 金宝存.
