Jin Xinchun / 金新春

Jin Xinchun (金新春) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Linli County, Hunan Province and a retired employee of the county radio and television bureau. Minghui reports that she was arrested in July 2022 and later sentenced to five years in prison.

2022 arrest

Minghui reports that on July 21, 2022, police in Linli County carried out a group arrest of local Falun Gong practitioners. Jin was among those detained. The outlet also reports that her son Gao Fei, whom it describes as not practicing Falun Gong, was detained after helping his mother with legal correspondence concerning an earlier sentence.

Five-year sentence

Minghui reports that Jin, then 69, was sentenced to five years in prison. It states that Jin and two other women were transferred in mid-May 2024 to Hunan Province Women’s Prison to serve their sentences.

Earlier reported detention history

Minghui describes repeated detention and imprisonment dating back to 1999, including multiple prison terms and a period of forced-labor detention. It also reports allegations of mistreatment and major family losses while Jin was imprisoned. These accounts remain source-attributed.

Status and evidence limits

Rights Defense Network Issue 131 lists 金新春 among reported current prisoners in its five-year-sentence group as of August 31, 2026. The exact prison division, current condition and release date are not established in the sources reviewed. One 2009 Minghui item calls the same Linli radio/TV-bureau retiree “Mr. Jin Xinchun,” while all other records identify her as female; that isolated label is treated as an editorial inconsistency.
