Lang Dongyue is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yanqing District, Beijing, who is serving a nine-year prison sentence in Hebei Province.
2021 arrest and 2023 sentence
According to the U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China and Minghui, Lang was arrested on December 14, 2021 in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei. Around July 2023, the Xuanhua District People’s Court sentenced her to nine years in prison and fined her 15,000 yuan. She appealed and, according to Minghui, lost the appeal.
Earlier detention history
CECC and Minghui report that Lang had previously been detained at least five times since 1999, for an aggregate period of about ten years. Minghui and Clear Harmony describe earlier forced-labor detention and allege beatings, forced feeding and other abuse. Those allegations remain source-attributed.
Prison status and family visits
Minghui reported in December 2025 that Lang had been confirmed at Hebei Province Women’s Prison, where she had been held first in Division 14 and later Division 13. The outlet reported that family visits had been denied for more than two years and that a December 2025 video showed her looking thin and haggard. These observations are source-attributed and have not been independently verified.
Status and evidence limits
The CECC listed Lang among its 2024 political-prisoner cases of concern. No PRC court judgment or official case record was located. Her Chinese-character name has not been verified and is intentionally omitted. No release date is inferred, and no custody claim is made beyond the latest dated reporting.
