Li Binyang (李彬阳) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Guiyang, Guizhou Province. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting states that he was arrested in February 2023 with family members and later sentenced to prison.
2023 arrest
Minghui reports that Li was detained near Qingzhen City with his mother, Song Xiaomei, while distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Two reports give different arrest dates: February 16 and February 26, 2023. His father, described as a non-practitioner, was reportedly released after 48 hours.
Sentence and prison placement
A March 2024 Minghui report states that Li received a four-year sentence. A July 2024 follow-up instead gives four years and six months. Rights Defense Network Issue 131 later places 李彬阳 in its four-year-sentence group, matching the earlier report. No official judgment was located to resolve the discrepancy.
The July 2024 report states that Li was admitted to Duyun Prison.
Family background
Minghui also reports that Li’s mother received a three-year sentence and that his grandmother, Zhou Xianglan, had previously been detained and died in December 2021. Those family-history details remain source-attributed.
Status and evidence limits
Rights Defense Network Issue 131 lists 李彬阳 among reported current prisoners as of August 31, 2026. No PRC official or court source was located. Current status beyond that dated roster is not inferred.
