Li Shuangping (李双平) is a preacher and co-worker of the Golden Lampstand Church, an unregistered house church in Linfen, Shanxi Province. Religious-freedom and human-rights organizations report that he was sentenced in June 2025 to nine years and two months in prison and fined 100,000 yuan on a fraud charge connected to church donations.
2021 detention and prosecution
ChinaAid reports that Li was among Golden Lampstand Church leaders and co-workers detained in Linfen in August 2021. He was placed under criminal detention later that month and formally arrested in September.
2025 sentence and appeal
Multiple organizations report that Li received a sentence of nine years and two months in June 2025. Bitter Winter and ChinaAid give June 20, while another religious-freedom source gives June 17; the day-level discrepancy remains unresolved. The reported fine was 100,000 yuan.
Bitter Winter reports that on August 15, 2025 the Linfen Intermediate People’s Court upheld the sentence on appeal.
Status and evidence limits
Rights Defense Network Issue 131 places 李双平 alone in its nine-years-two-months sentence group. ChinaAid’s prisoner-letter directory continued to list him in custody in materials current as of August 2026. No release date is inferred. The “fraud” characterization is reported as the authorities’ charge; assessments of the prosecution’s religious motive remain attributed to monitoring organizations.
