Lin Chunzi (林春子) is a Falun Gong practitioner and farmer of Korean ethnicity from Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province. Minghui reported that she received a four-year prison sentence in 2021 and was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison after a February 2023 re-arrest.
Minghui’s 2011 profile says Lin began practicing Falun Gong in 1997 and had been repeatedly detained since 1999. It describes earlier detention in Hailin and alleges severe mistreatment, including suffocation, exposure to freezing conditions, and other coercive treatment. These allegations come from Minghui and have not been independently verified.
The same source reports that Lin was transferred to Harbin Women’s Prison in 2004 and released in September 2007. In February 2011, Minghui reported that she and another practitioner were arrested by railway police while distributing Falun Gong materials.
An August 2024 Minghui report states that Lin was arrested again on June 10, 2021 and sentenced later that year to four years. It says she was initially allowed to serve outside prison because of poor health, but was re-arrested on February 11, 2023 and taken to Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison days later. The outlet reported that she weighed under 80 pounds, used a wheelchair, and that her health had continued to decline. Those health details remain source-attributed.
Status: the latest case-specific reporting located, from August 2024, places Lin in Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. No later release or status update was located.
