Lin Yangpeng (林杨鹏)

Lin Yangpeng (林杨鹏) is a former bank employee and online activist from Jieyang, Guangdong Province. He was sentenced to five years in prison in the “Tuiqiang Alliance” (推墙大联盟) case and was released on March 26, 2024 after completing the term.

Human-rights monitoring records identify Lin, born July 7, 1967, as a Buddhist and former employee of the Agricultural Bank of China’s Shantou branch. He used the online name 林舍 and the Twitter handle @sxdyq and was described as an administrator of the alliance’s “N5 Group.”

According to the CHRD/tenchu prisoner database and a Weiquanwang case biography, Lin was detained by Chongqing police on March 27, 2019, initially under administrative detention and then under criminal detention on suspicion of subversion of state power. His formal arrest followed in June 2019.

The monitoring records state that prosecutors indicted Lin and four co-defendants in March 2020 and that the Chongqing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court tried the group in November 2020. On March 20, 2023, the court reportedly sentenced Lin to five years in prison plus three years’ deprivation of political rights.

The same case-specific records state that Lin was released on March 26, 2024 after completing his sentence.

Status: former prisoner — released March 26, 2024. Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, still lists 林杨鹏 in its five-year-sentence group, but that roster entry conflicts with the two earlier dated release records and is treated here as stale.

Evidence limits: no published PRC court judgment or official case statement was located. Detailed allegations about Lin’s online activity, including the reported number of tweets and group-administrator role, come from monitoring sources and remain attributed.
