Liu Erni (刘二妮)

Liu Erni (刘二妮) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Laiwu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province.

Rights Defense Network reports that Liu was first arrested in 2014 for distributing Falun Gong materials and sentenced to three years in prison.

According to a January 17, 2026 case report by the same organization, police arrested Liu again at her home on August 29, 2025. The report states that she was later sentenced to three years and four months in prison. It also alleges that authorities threatened and intimidated her family and extracted 5,000 yuan from them; those claims remain attributed to the monitoring organization.

The January 2026 report states that Liu was held at the Jinan Zhonggong Detention Center and gives December 28, 2028 as the stated end of the sentence term. Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, continues to list 刘二妮 / Liu Erni in the three-year-four-month sentence group.

Status: listed as detained as of August 31, 2026. The stated 2028 term end is presented as a source record, not as confirmation of a future release event.
